The Great British Halal Chef takes to the stage

Come and see Chef Hamza cooking live in the Tariq Halal Cookery Theatre at LMLS

If you haven’t yet sampled the wares of the Great British Halal Chef at his premier steak restaurant, HS&Co in Stratford, then make sure you’re around this Easter Bank Holiday weekend for a real treat to the tastebuds.

Not only will he be bringing HS&Co’s famous pulled buns and tasty milkshakes to the Halal Food Court, but Chef Hamza will be taking to the stage in the Tariq Halal Cookery Theatre to show us a thing or two in the kitchen.

During his first session at 12.30pm on Sunday 16th, he will be demonstrating how to cook the perfect steak. And if you've ever wondered what the difference is between rump and rib-eye, now's your chance to learn.

Staying true to his famous catchphrase “I don’t cook curries,” Hamza will be following up with a second session by cooking a typically British pie at 3pm.

Hamza has made a name in the industry in recent years, tackling misconceptions of what halal cooking can be, while proudly proclaiming his proud British heritage. He is a firm believer that the two things blend together seamlessly, such as his celebrated signature dish English Pie Trio, consisting of Scotch egg, minced beef & onion pie and Cornish pasty. World cuisine is also an integral part of his cooking palette given his mixed heritage, which allows him to prepare Spanish, Moroccan, Lebanese and Pan-Asian dishes with consummate ease.

He has been working in and around restaurants since he was only 7 years old, originally working with his father, before becoming a fully trained Chef. After forever seeing meals cooked on TV that were not attainable to the Muslim community, Hamza decided it was time to make a change. This helped form the energy to open up HS&Co with his business partner, creating a restaurant where you can feast on the highest quality halal steaks that will you will struggle to find anywhere else in the UK.

If you are in need of cooking inspiration, or want to witness the next big thing in world cooking, then make sure you are there to watch The Great British Halal Chef live in action on Sunday 16th April at London Muslim Lifestyle Show.
