London Muslims LOL Comedy Show at LMLS

Check out the full line-up for this year’s live comedy show, featuring Aatif Nawaz, Prince Abdi and Mani Liaqat.

With all the great food, fashion and entertainment we have for you at this year’s London Muslim Lifestyle Show, we’re also aiming to tickle your funny bone once more.

As last year’s comedy shows were such a tremendous success, we had to make sure there was ample room for them this year too. The line-up is funnier than ever, with a trio of comedians guaranteed to send you home laughing all the way!

Those of you who were at the 2016 show will remember Aatif Nawaz, whose hilarious jokes made it a certainty he had to return this year. Aatif is a multi-talented, award winning entertainer whose reputation continues to grow. If not performing shows in London’s Leicester Square Theatre, he is introducing ground-breaking new material at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. He is a regular presenter on 'Living the Life' on the Islam Channel in addition to writing for The Guardian, appearing on Channel 4’s ‘Peep Show’ and presenting on BBC Radio 4. As if all of that wasn’t enough, his documentary short ‘Postcards From Lahore’ was the only Pakistani film to play at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2013 and he helped raise over 2 million pound as part of last year’s UK Comedy Tour.

New to the show this year will be Prince Abdi, a highly respected British Somalian comedian who has been making people laugh all around the world for the past decade. Prince has worked with some of the biggest names around, supporting Reginald D Hunter, Dave Chappelle, Stephen K Amos as well as performing alongside Chris Rock and Louis CK. Aside from working with such comedy royalty, he has written and starred in his own sketches on ITV, BBC and Comedy Central, also starring in drama and comedy features. More recently he starred in the HBO pilot ‘Mogadishu, Minnesota’ in the role of Big Man, written and directed by Canadian rapper/singer K’naan, which is likely to be made into a full scale series.

Completing the hysterical line-up this year will be Mani Liaqat, a comedian who has continued to build on his success of being named Britain’s funniest Asian in 2009. Bollywood came calling the following year, starring opposite Mahima Chaudhry in the exciting ‘Pusher’ film and in 2013 he hosted Amir Khan’s engagement party. When Bollywood megastar Shahrukh Khan held a meet and greet in Manchester, Mani was the man chosen to host the event. He has also appeared in the hit BBC comedy ‘Citizen Khan’ and in ‘Sard Agg’ which featured on the mainstream Pakistani channel HUM TV. Currently, Mani has his own TV show ‘Tonight with Mani Liaqat’ which shows every Sunday evening on DM Sky 799.

As you can see, we have quite an exceptional comedy line-up for you this year, packed full of multi-talented performers who will leave you in fits of laughter.
